Chandler Scott Congratulations to all Evans Chorus members who participated in LGPE at the end of last month! Each group received Superior ratings in both performance and sight reading and made our Cougar family proud!
Hi Parents/Guardians/Students!
Please look over the following topics because we have a LOT to update and clue in on. Pre-LGPE Concert: This concert date was not originally on the calendar given at the beginning of the year, but is vital for our success at our large evaluation happening at the end of March. This concert is less than two weeks away! MONDAY, MARCH 12th at the Performing Arts Centre. This performance will be in conjunction with Smokey Road Middle School choirs. Students arrive at the Centre dressed by 6:00 wearing their full uniform described below. All students will need to attend. If there are any scheduling conflicts with your student, you must contact me as soon as possible in order for them to receive an alternate assignment (if the absence is excused). Concert will start at 6:30 and end around 7:30. Please have appropriate form of transportation for your student if you are unable to attend. Uniform Reminder 6th Grade: Blue polos, black pants, black socks/tights/knee highs (no ankles showing), Black shoes 7th/8th Grade:
LGPE: LGPE stands for Large Group Performance Evaluation which is our important judged evaluation we work toward every year. We will be headed to Harps Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville the week of March 19th. Each grade will be attending on a different day this year (meaning smaller groups for the field trip!)
Students will need signed field trip forms in order to attend. Field trip forms will be handed out next week. Money for Chick-Fil-A and forms are due Tuesday, March 13th. No late forms will be accepted. Volunteers: I NEED LGPE CHAPERONES! If you are available during the day for the dates provided above, I would love to have you come with us on our trip! Any parent chaperone attending the event will get a free Chick-fil-a meal. I will send home extra parent volunteer forms in the next week or so, but you may also email me directly at [email protected]. We will be taking one grade per day this year, so please pay attention to the LGPE dates provided above. Solo & Ensemble: Students participating in Solo & Ensemble at Lee Middle School on April 28th. I will start having sign ups for morning & afternoon lesson times starting next week to work with students individually. Student Shout Outs: Congratulations to Sage Dellaperuta (8th Grade) for representing Evans at our 2018 All State Chorus! Sage went through a very grueling two rounds of auditions to make it this far! Also, shout outs to our four 6th graders who auditioned for me at the beginning of the year and made 6th Grade Statewide Honor Chorus: Sara Kate Barnes, Hannah Embrey, Lily Sayre, and Meredith Wyman! Both events took place in Athens over our Mid-Winter break and the kids represented our school with pride! Pictures! I’m not sure how, but I’ve managed to get this far into the year and not have any pictures from any of the performances! If there are any of you out there willing to send some pictures to Ms. Scott, please do so at [email protected]. Social Media & Chorus Online:
Hello there!
Here is a little update about the next month or so as promised! Veteran’s Day Recap: I’m very proud of the students and pleased with our patriotic program last Friday, November 10th! Thank you all parents/family members who came out! Pictures and (hopefully) videos will be posted on the EMS Chorus website over Thanksgiving break. Winter Concert: After we get back from the break, it will be concert week! The concert will start at 7:00PM on Friday, December 1st in the Nixon Centre (formerly the Centre for Performing Arts) which is located at 1523 Lower Fayetteville Road , Newnan, GA 30265. The concert will be under an hour long and there will be no admission. Winter Concert Rehearsal: We are having a long after school rehearsal at the Centre the day of the concert; therefore, students will be given the opportunity to ride the bus after school to the venue. Permission forms were sent home today and will be accepted up until Tuesday, November 28th.
Winter Concert Chaperones/Volunteers/Help: I am sending out an email shortly to those of you who signed up at the beginning of the year to help, but I NEED MORE PARENT CHAPERONES FOR THIS EVENT!!! If you are available to help with our pizza dinner, chaperone the after school rehearsal at the Nixon Centre, and/or chaperone during the concert, please send me an email as soon as you can. I am also asking if there are any parents out there willing to help provide and/or set up some simple Winter-themed decor in the lobby before the concert. If you are interested, please contact me and we can start planning! Uniform: 7/8th Grade Uniforms:
We will have another day where 7/8th Grade girls may bring in their dresses to be hemmed/altered. All we ask is $10 in return. Please have your student bring in their uniform as soon as they can in order to make this happen. 6th Grade Uniforms: Blue polos and ALL black pants (not black leggings, not grey jeans or pants, no black sparkles), socks/stockings, and black closed toed shoes. ALL students male or female in 6TH, 7TH, & 8TH MUST either wear LONG black socks/stockings/hose with their uniform and ALL black closed toed shoes. NO EXCEPTIONS. Social Media & Chorus Online:
Thank you so much for your support and happy early Thanksgiving! Chandler Scott [email protected] Hello Parents, Guardians, & Students!

As stated on calendars given out at the beginning of the year, each grade has been assigned a colored shirt to wear:
Winter Concert: Reminder that this concert will be on Friday, December 1st at 7:00 PM. I will be sending another update soon on details of the Winter Concert and need for Chaperones and Volunteers with this! 7/8th Grade Uniforms: These will be worn on Winter Concert. New/Rented uniforms have been distributed (except for brand new students). Each NEW dress should have arrived with proper care instructions. Recommended: Hand wash in cold water with gentle detergent, hang dry or wash on delicates setting inside out, hang dry. NEVER PUT IN THE DRYER. Dresses both new and rented must be hemmed to the proper length while still keeping extra fabric for growth. All we ask is $10 in return. Exact dates for this will be sent out in the near future. 6th Grade Uniforms: These will be worn on Winter Concert.
